March 31, 2016 Speech to Japan-America Society of the State of Washington

Special Guest Speaker, Ambassador Ira Shapiro, Chair of the National Association of Japan-America Societies will speak at the annual dinner of the Japan-America Society of Washington on March 31, 2016 from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Seattle Hilton hotel.  The speech is titled, “The Transpacific Partnership Agreement:  U.S.-Japan Relations at a Defining Moment.”

The event is free to members.

March 29, 2016 Speech to the Japan Society of Northern California

Ira Shapiro will speak on “The Impact of the Proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership on America’s Pivot to Asia and the US-Japan Relationship in the Asia Pacific” on March 29, 2016.  The Pacific Salon event will be held from 6:00 to 8:30 PM at the Consul General of Japan in San Francisco Yun Yamada’s residence.

Post TPP, What’s Next for U.S.-Japan Economic Cooperation? Oct 13, 2015

Passage of the TPP would bring a historic milestone in US-Japan economic relations.  After a keynote speech by Kurt W. Tong, Principal Deputy Assistant Secretary, Bureau of Economic and Business Affairs, U.S. Department of State,  Ambassador Kenichiro Sasae, Ambassador of Japan to the U.S. and Ambassador Ira Shapiro, President of Ira Shapiro Global Strategies LLC along with Michael J. Green, Senior Vice President for Asia and Japan Chair at CSIS, discuss the evolution of Japan and American cooperation and explore how the two nations might take the relationship forward into new areas of cooperation.
